Common Issues

AutoZip Pro won't start

If AutoZip Pro won't start, try the following steps:

  1. Make sure your macOS is version 13.5 or later
  2. Restart your computer
  3. Check if there's a newer version of AutoZip Pro available
  4. Try reinstalling the application

Scheduled compression not working

If scheduled compression is not working as expected:

  1. Check if the folder configuration is enabled (toggle switch is ON)
  2. Verify that you have proper permissions for the source and destination folders
  3. Make sure your Mac is not in sleep mode during scheduled compression times
  4. Check if automatic compression is paused in the menu bar app

Password-protected ZIP files can't be opened

If you're having trouble opening password-protected ZIP files:

  1. Make sure you're entering the correct password
  2. Try using the built-in Archive Utility in macOS
  3. Try using a third-party app like Keka or The Unarchiver
  4. Check if the ZIP file is corrupted

Note: Password-protected ZIP files created with AutoZip Pro use AES-256 encryption, which is supported by most modern unzip utilities.

File permissions issues

If you're experiencing file permission issues:

  1. Make sure AutoZip Pro has access to the folders you want to compress (System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Files and Folders)
  2. Check if the destination folder is writable
  3. Try running AutoZip Pro with administrator privileges
  4. Check if the files are locked or in use by another application
